It depends as there is a line to be drawn. We all have to live and be able to pay bills. We also need to be able to cover costs.
A lot of it goes down the intention of the site owner. I have seen leading Christian socail websites being sold for a lot of money, it turned out these 2 sites were set up by the same person and was only doing it for the money.

I personaly dont make anything on my sites. I dont sell advertising. I do recevie donations but that is because people want to send them, how ever these are not a large amount and go straight back into the sites.

I set mine up as a hobby. I work from in travel and needed something to do to take away the boredom of my work yet i still needed to be at home.

My aim for my sites is to provide a safe enviroment for Christians online. A great place for Christians across the world to unite. Not to make a lot of money.
