Post How to Configure PHP5

On VPS PHP5 is preinstalled. But I want to know how to configure it in .HTACCESS to get PHP5 script running. In WHM, I have seen there is no PHP5 Handler dont know if it is necessary or not? but the main point is How to Configure PHP5 in .HTACCESS or in PHP.ini. I was advised by Cirtex to put following lines in .HTACCESS

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php5 .php

But we were on shared hosting. Want to know about VPS.

Looking someone to help this problem. I am working with Guthix!

Sorry to bring up a old topic......
but I have added this line....but the index.php is still trying to download instead of display. Any ideas. I solved this once last year...but forgot. Or does the httpd.conf has to modified to include index.php also?

Hi,

It happens if php is not parsed , try recompiling Apache once again and if still no luck try commenting " AddHandler .cgi " in httpd.conf and check it.
