Default joomla SEO Issue

I am having an od issue with joomla seo. I have looked for articles on this very issue at jomla but think it maybe a isolated server issue. I have a vps thats running a site with joomla 1.5.8 on the frontend, When I enable the first seo setting as described in the joomla seo manual. the images disappear and it looks like the the image path is incorrect. istead of http://website.com/images/stories/image.jpeg the path to the image is http://website.com/index.php/images/stories/image.jpeg, so it cant find the image to display.
the image link inside the module is /images/stories/image.jpeg I tried to change the link to the image to http://website.com/images/stories/image.jpeg.

but nothing seems to be working. I am really frustrated that i cant get past the first setting with the joomla seo..

Is anyone else having this issue and what if anything were you able to do to fix it..

Thanks for your time.

Hi!
Instead of /images/stories/image.jpeg
change it the full absolute link (home/user/site/images/stories/images.jpg)
If that does not work....remove the / in front of /images/stories/image.jpeg
try to play around and remember to clear your cache in the browser or do a hard refresh (crtl F5).

there is not doubt that SEO is growing very rapidly but certainly some craiglist work is also not behind it...... but SEO rocks for sure....

Its funny how everyone is so worried about SEO but their site's content is boring and has no return visits.
