How To install ShoutCast

Hi,

Recently we had many queries regarding shoutcast installation and I thought the following steps may help.


Installing shoutcast:

Download from nullsoft:


wget http://www.shoutcast.com/downloads/s...-glibc6.tar.gz

Lets extract shoutcast:


tar -zxvf shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6.tar.gz

rm -rf shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6.tar.gz
mv shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6 shoutcast
cd shoutcast


How to configure shoutcast?

Edit the shoutcast configuration.

vi sc_serv.conf



configuration options. Change these settings in the file:

MaxUser
Password
PortBase

uncomment AdminPassword and set an admin password.


How do i start shoutcast?

./sc_serv sc_serv.conf

Please follow the steps to install in on any server.

[root@sserver]# wget http://69.72.132.53/shoutcast_install.sh
[root@sserver]#sh shoutcast_install.sh

Thats all! you may now access the shoutcast web interface using http://IP_Address:8000
