How do you choose and then make them loyal to you?

Not an easy task. You will first need to look for your most loyal members to do that. The ones who have been there from the beginning. Then give them gradual abilities so they grow into it. Reward them when they do a good job.

You definitely need to choose wisely. I've elected some members to being staff members and have regretted it.

I agree with clipshare, the same thing happened to me too. If you can just do it on your own - less trouble that way.

It would be nice to live in a world where you can do everything yourself but it does not work that way and I have lots of things to do more than just moderate a community.

I think PHP motion was just trying to help. There are moderation services out there if you need it.

If you have to hire somebody just to moderate your community then things are really not doing so well in your part of internet.
