500 error pages

500 error pages are one of the most irritating pages to come across. They do not give you any clues to the behavior, does anyone have an alternative?

Don't let it get to you just go to your error log and you'll get the reason there.

That is exactly what I was going to say. Also check permissions.

Yes I forgot to mention permissions. Some scripts need more or less execution powers to work properly.

I do think that 500 pages should give a hint as to why they are being shown but they don't!
