Well if you don't know php then you will be in for some trouble because with SMF you sometimes have to know what you're doing with the code unless you are willing to hire someone.

In the SMF forums there is a help wanted section there you can try it, but even there you have to look for references.

Really just stick with what you have now - it works right? I always believe that instead of reinventing the wheel you just use what rolls already.

Well that's it, eventually the Upgrade will be necessary because it is good now but not later. Some people just like to be ahead.

SMF 2 rc 3 is out and they keep changing things so it is harder to mod so take that into consideration.

That's generally the thing I hate about form software - its always changing and you can never make anything permanent.

This is one of the reasons why people like to stick with older versions of software so that it is safer to use.
