Cleaning mouse
Even if you have an optical mouse you still have to clean it. I remember I used to have to do that often with the ball. How often do you clean yours?

I do it when the buttons or wheel don't work properly. Its not something I like doing as you can tell.

If you don't clean it often then the inner workings get messed up and you start to lose click sensitivity.

Even after cleaning mine I hate when you click and it acts like a double click.

Some dust probably got in the chamber. You can buy a can of pressurized air and blow it out.

On some mice if the oil from the wheel gets into the circuit you can get that problem.

I didn't know that the typical mouse actually had oil as part of its parts, are you sure about that?

Yes it is a very small amount for the wheel to turn but it is still enough to get in the way.
