Why do people online like to talk about things without providing legit sources?

Maybe he is talking about how people make statements like fact but they don't know for sure.

That's right. They don't state thats it their opinion but they put it down like fact and they don't give you a source for their info.

When I see something like that especially on forums I usually reply asking them to provide their sources.

Most people will always say something stupid until you bring them up about it. Keep in mind that as long as the net exists this will always happen.

Most people just discount or delete people who post things like that. Others get really angry.

The problem with the net is there is no accountability for what you say but that may change at some point.

No one will use the net if they are going to be ID everywhere they go and whatever they post.

That is a good idea but there will be far less participation so it will never work out.
