Default RAM Speed

Does the speed of your RAM really make a significant difference? For instance would 400mhz vs 600mhz really be that much of a difference?

That extra speed can make a difference but you will also have to add how much actual ram you have too.

I always say you should have at least a GB of free memory to do whatever you need to.

Fast memory is a faster computer so even though you may have spare ram you still need the speed to boost your system.

I know some people will only accept RAM above a certain speed. Also try to get your RAM the same speed rather than different.

Well yes I have switched to faster RAM before and experienced really good results so you are right about that, can't argue it.

Also matching ram speed is important or your machine will always use the lesser speed unfortunately.

yes that is the sad thing about RAM they only get devalued from the time you bought them unless someone is looking for an older machine.

Wait til a computer flea market comes your way and you get lots of RAM for cheap, sometimes even in bundles.
