That is hard to say because if they were so easily defined a lot of people would be in it and they wouldn't be niches anymore.

Good points however I think there are niches in everything. For instance take football - you can have discussion about only a certain type or way of playing football and that becomes a niche if you can find enough people interested.

yes that is a good example but the hard thing is finding enough of those people that want that particular niche.

I have been reading that a lot of people that get online do not surf for stuff anymore, they target their time so you will have to source your customers if you want traffic.

That makes sense and it made me realize that i am the same way too. I just check Email, come here and post a bit and that's it!

The niches were created a long time ago and getting all the money from it: Facebook. It has even killed Myspace.

You know what, its sites that have been years developing that are doing more than the ones that are just coming on the stream so its hard to get into a good niche now.

I don't know about that. There have been many new sites that have come on stream and taken over the older ones, it all depends on marketing.
