Default LCD Wall Mount

Why are LCD wall mounts so expensive? I mean its just a piece of metal to put your monitor on and it cost like 1/4 the cost of the monitor!

I think the arm is more than the bracket. I don't know what they attribute the cost too but you are right about it costing a little too much.

They can be kind of expensive but its also made to hold expensive stuff so you don't want to be cheap with a good wall mount.

I have a friend who created one using a heavy hinge, it works pretty well too considering.

If you use a hinge then it only swings one way where with an arm mount you can get lots of different viewing angles.

A hinge... now that is an idea! Saves a lot of money that way but you will need one incredibly strong hinge because those LCDs are heavy!

I don't doubt there are hinges that can take the weight, there are some pretty hefty hinges out there.

The one in the middle must be able to take real weight to extend so far out.

That long one in the middle must have titanium in it to be so stretched out unless the photo is fooling me.
