Next best thing after a forum?

Whats the next step after a forum if you want to create a big site?

Selling products? That question is too open really i think you need to be more specific with what your goals are.

If you can create an imitation Facebook community then that is as far as you can get. Not to look like facebook but act in the same way.

Google is coming out with their own social network and they're looking to take over Facebook, thats the next big thing.

I don't think that benefits us really, things are not going well so you get left out of the puzzle.

I am worried about the future of the net, it seems like it will become a monopoly where smaller guys will become unknown.

It is a concern for me too. The only thing that is vibrant is people who keep supporting you.
