Default Putty

Anyone ever used a program called 'Putty' to connect to the server? How safe is it?

What is Putty all about? Is that a shell based interface program?

Putty is a program that allows you to connect to your host via the command prompt. You need to know unix commands.

Well I guess if it can connect over a secure connection then it is worth a look. Thanks everyone for your input.

Make sure you know what you are doing when you use putty because you need to have commands and it does take up resources once you have it running.

You can use PuTTY or use SSH Explorer. I recommend this as most of the commands are coded already for you.

PuTTY is the most common app used to connect to a server. It is needed (or any SSH client) in order to finish the configuration of a new 'Linux" server. I use it everyday.

I'll stick with Putty, it does what I want. I don't want to have to pay someone to do something I already can do.
