I'm eading a lot of blogs about the end of DVD, what's going to replace it though?

Who says DVDs are ending / finishing? I don't think its finishing at all. DVD will be here to stay because the next thing up which is flash is not reliable.

No, they are still making DVDs with 40gbs. If anything DVDs may get smaller, but that's it.

I haven't actually used one of those discs to burn anything, is it any good?

I want to see something like a flash drive replace the DVD actually. Worrying over keeping a DVD safe is kind of difficult.

I don't think flash drives are reliable, I think there needs to be something different.

They are also way more expensive compared to DVDs?

They are now, but given time they will be just as cheap as a DVD-R is now.

As followup to this, there maybe a wireless option to any hardware transport of info.

Yes, but that is not reliable for everyone everywhere. People like to have something they can store away and then retrieve later.
