I'm eading a lot of blogs about the end of DVD, what's going to replace it though?

Who says DVDs are ending / finishing? I don't think its finishing at all. DVD will be here to stay because the next thing up which is flash is not reliable.

No, they are still making DVDs with 40gbs. If anything DVDs may get smaller, but that's it.

I want to see something like a flash drive replace the DVD actually. Worrying over keeping a DVD safe is kind of difficult.

They are now, but given time they will be just as cheap as a DVD-R is now.

Yes, but that is not reliable for everyone everywhere. People like to have something they can store away and then retrieve later.
