Can you believe a teenager sent all those messages in ONE month? She says she is popular but I don't believe her (based on the pic). It seems to me she is more desperate to make friends than anything else.

You need a peculiar set of half-formed, skinny fingers to text on an iPhone.

And you need a peculiar set of strangely formed cranial connections to send and receive 303,398 texts on it in one month.

However, this is the claim of Crystal Wiski, a teen from Antelope in California's Sacramento County.

Her mother, Jackie, bought her the iPhone a month ago and young Crystal took to it like a duck to quacking.

Crystal told local NBC station KSBW: "I get cramps."

She then got the urge to explain the simplicity of her need to text so much: "I'm popular. I can't help it."

Well, indeed. I am sure that's how President Obama explains his attachment to his BlackBerry.

You might be saying to yourself at this point that no one can send seven texts a minute. Well, the fine folk at KSBW pointed their most excellent equipment in Crystal's direction and timed her. Those thumbs were made for talking. Rapid talking...

Obviously she has too much idle time on her hands. I wish I could have that time to just text messaging all day, I think the girl needs to get a job.

Yeah, these are teenagers in our day. It is kind of disturbing her mother is willing to pay for all that money in text messaging unless the girl works and pays for her own phone bill.

This is why some teenagers these days can tell you all about Mp 4 etc etc etc but they cannot tell you the basics of any question. Too much idle time!

Impossible. That would be sending a text every 8.5 seconds 24 hours a day for a month.

Some of those messages might have just been smiley faces or one characters sent rapidly to multiple people.
