Maybe someone hacked into it. Chat rooms open up a lot of connections so it is a big security risk. If you are going to run them then you have to be like on 24/7 alert.

Lol, wow I didn't realize people were actually reading this thread. Sorry for not replying sooner.

As far as adult content it is no different than Yahoo Chat, it has a lobby, politics, religion, paranormal, and local state rooms as well as a few adult rooms. Adult photos are not allowed as main profile photos however they are allowed in personal photo albums. We also have both general as well as adult rated categories in the video section.

We are now up to around 45,000 registered members however not all of them are active. We usually have less than 100 concurrent members in the chat rooms at any given time.

Most traffic comes from Yahoo as we are number 3 in the serps for chat rooms and then Google as we are number 3 there for free chat rooms. We do also get quite a bit of direct traffic from word of mouth through our invite a friend component.

The site is using the Joomla cms to power the profiles and main site and using 123flashchat for our chat software.

I created this site to give people that chat in Yahoo a place to go that is not filled with spam bots and so far we've been lucky enough to keep them out. We use a few techniques that Yahoo does not to prevent them from using automated programs in our rooms as well as preventing them from logging in multiple times from one location.

Basically if you've ever used Yahoo Chat it will be a very similar experience, but obviously without the bots and captcha hassels, and of course with a lot less people in the chat rooms up to this point.

Since originally creating this post I've also added the ability to customize some of the basic css of your profile such as background colors and images and hope to expand the customization of the profiles in the future. We are also getting ready to launch an instant messenger for our members as well that will integrate with the friend connections you already have on your profiles as well as integrating the on site messaging system that will alert you when logged into messenger when you receive a message similar to what Yahoo IM does when you get a new Yahoo email.

The site is by no means perfect and there is still a lot of work to be done to make it better but in my opinion it's the best free chat site out there next to Yahoo. Really the main thing we need now is more people in the chat rooms.
